In Writing, we are making big plans for our personal essays. We read many examples of essays and learned that essays are organized by a big idea, also called a claim or thesis. Then, there are paragraphs to support the thesis. We are making plans using the boxes and bullets method to frame essays. Next, we will begin collecting support and drafting paragraphs.

We honored the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. by studying quotes by him. We also listened to his speech "Life's Blueprint" and created our own blueprints for what we want our lives to be. Ask your child to share theirs with you!
