Students then practiced by moving around the room based on the situation Ms. Todd proposed. Finally, students wrote their own scenarios as a small group. Ms. Todd will be back on Wednesday for Part 2!

Students acted out responses to scenarios involving bullying situations. It was a great opportunity for conversation and brainstorming ideas on how to respond appropriately and effectively. Thank you to Ms. Todd for leading the lesson!

In Writing, we are beginning to explore essay writing by making claims and supporting our ideas with evidence and examples. We read an article about the best inventions of 2021. We created groups based on our top pick and then supported our claims.

In Reading, students are working on individual reading goals within the reading workshop structure. Some students are working in book clubs, others in strategy groups, and others are doing individual conferences. Anom, Claire, and Aadi are preparing for a book club discussion about The Endling by Katherine Applegate.
