Building Safety Regulation 2008
By no means can a person on our property, staff or otherwise place an obstruction within 2m of a final exit outside a building; or in another place on an evacuation route of a building that would likely: unduly restrict, hinder or delay a person (a potentially injured person) from evacuating the building as easily as possible.
Walkways and exit doors must be clear of objects at all times.
Each location should provide a copy of their Emergency Control Organisation and Emergency Evacuation and Lockdown procedures in a prominent place.
All emergency fire equipment, such as horns, sirens and fire extinguishers, are tested by an approved provider every 12 months.
The Emergency Control Organisation identifies responsible persons at each location who have duties to assist in the safe evacuation of persons from one of our buildings, services or programs. The collective Emergency Team who outwork evacuation.
The Emergency Planning Committee is responsible for the development, implementation and maintenance of the emergency plan, emergency response procedures and related training at each Location. In Brisbane it is a group of people. At other Locations, it may be one person or a number of people. The purpose is to regularly discuss and outwork procedures for the safe evacuation of the building whether that is one person or a number.
The CFW role is one that must be certified by an accredited organisation.
