Our Emergency Procedures provide the emergency control, structure and directions for our campuses which will assist in preventing injury to workers, visitors and neighbouring people/premises in the event of an emergency. The procedures also aim to minimise damage to the organisation’s equipment, plant and installations.
NB. All locations maintain a strict emergency plan, based on these procedures and assure their outworking with all staff and volunteers at their campuses.
The WHS Facilitator & Fire Safety Advisor shall develop emergency plans together with the appointed person at each Location.
Emergency Plans must be kept up to date and reviewed every 12 months or such time as is required at law from time to time, by the Fire Safety Advisor.
Emergency Information to be displayed in this Work Health and Safety site, in the WHSMS (Manual) and also found on the Drive.
An emergency plan diagram of the site showing exit points, fire extinguishers, hose reels and Assembly Areas are displayed on various walls around the campus.
Equipment provided for Emergency Procedures shall be checked in accordance with the relevant regulations pursuant to an external maintenance contract and this procedure shall be reviewed as part of the bi-annual location WHS audit/inspection and reviews and updates provided on Maxpanda and the relevant documentation on the Compliance Drive.
Emergency evacuations and tests of procedures are conducted every 12 months and emergency equipment provided for emergency procedures are checked regularly as part of the workplace inspections.
