First aid is the immediate treatment or care given to a person suffering from an injury or illness until more advanced care is provided or the person recovers.
Citipointe ensures a number of first aid kits are fully stocked for whatever service or program we are running. Wherever you are, you need to know where the first aid kit is and how it's maintained. Please ask if you do not know.
Each location has identified staff and volunteers who are trained in First Aid and CPR. These people may have these qualifications for their job (nurses, doctors, paramedics, teachers) or they are a staff member or volunteer who has taken the course, purely to assist Citipointe in an emergency.
Whether staff or volunteer, they all undertake the annual refresher course in CPR. First Aid training is only required every three years.
You should identify who your First Aid responders are in case you need to call on them.
