My Philosophy

TEACHING PHILOSOPHY

Whatever the mind can conceive and believe, it can achieve.

I'm not sure where I heard this quote from when I was younger, or whom it is credited to, but it has had a profound effect on me. I found out later that the whole quote went, "Whatever your mind can conceive and believe the mind can achieve regardless of how many times you may have failed in the past.” , which is even better! Having dealt with a lot of failures in my life, I believe that they shouldn't hold me back, but propel me forward. This is a constant with me. In whatever I do, and how I go about teaching. This is something I try to inculcate in my students - try, try, try again; be creative, and put your best foot forward, no matter what.

I believe that learning happens everywhere, and anywhere. True learning has no restrictions - be it of space or time. (Finally, my physics kicks in somewhere!) I constantly endeavour to create learning opportunities for my students - in class or out of class. In fact, my strong suits have been honed only out of the class, thus, I, too, afford my students platforms to learn, and hone skills outside the classroom. To that effect, I have been successful - I believe.

Finally, it's simple being only a teacher, who walks in with only a syllabus in mind. But it takes courage to be someone that inspires- constantly, is willing to focus on students, and perseveres to give the best under-graduate experience to all their students. This is the philosophy that drives me.
