CHMSU Binalbagan supports the 18-day campaign to end VAWC. In addition to being a serious issue for public health, violence against women and girls (VAW) also constitutes a grave violation of human rights. Due to their low position in society, it severely exposes gender inequality by focusing on women and girls. Violence against women (VAW) is defined by the United Nations as "any act of gender-based violence that results in, or is likely to result in, physical, sexual, or mental harm or suffering to women, including threats of such acts, coercion, or arbitrary deprivation of liberty, whether occurring in public or private life." Every woman, regardless of age, skin color, gender identity, ethnicity, religion, disabilities, economic status, or social standing, can experience violence and the threats of violence.
