We were inspired by the quote that goes around the rocket which is the quote “Shoot for the moon even if you miss you’ll land among the stars.” We started by finding something to use as the body, then we cut out cardboard for the fins and the top. Next we glued everything together. Finally, we painted the whole thing and added our astronaut and alien. We would probably try and find something different to use for the top of the rocket because it is not really a point and it looks kinda awkward. We liked the astronaut and alien in the window because it is silly and fun and was an added thing that we didn’t plan.
Molly Schneider “Mighty King”
8x6x3 plaster, paint. 2017
I was going to do a phantom mask but i changed my mind at the last minute.
That it is a portrait of mufasa and that his mane represents the circle of life.
I would add more color to the fur and i would redo the eyes.
I love Everything about him.
Molly Schneider “Pink Elephants on Parade”
9”x 7”x7” Earthenware Clay and Glass, 2017
I knew I wanted to do an elephant. I decided to make the elephant a teapot and give to my mom for mother’s day. I didn’t want to make it boring and grey so i decided to add a lot of bright colors. I used the method slab, cutting out large pieces of clay and putting them together. The elephant’s name is Penelope. I would redo some of the polka dots if i could go back. I love all the color and the lid is adorable.
