The initial idea was that I had a picture of me split down the middle. One half is positive things I think of myself and the other half is negative things I think of myself. I looked through my camera roll and looked for pictures of myself. I decided to use a photo of me from homecoming. I decided to draw over my picture with the brush tool and hid the actual picture with just the lineart showing. I used the gradient tool and made a sideways gradient with grey and teal. Then I made a line through the middle of the image. I used the fonts in the app to write the negative and positive describing words. The negative words were in a sharper messier font and the positive words in cursive. My favorite part of the piece is the colors I choose for the gradient and the lineart. If I could change anything, I would change the font for the negative words.

The message of the poster is to bring attention to the Film Festival coming up in the spring. I thought it would be fun and interesting to do a parody of a famous movie poster. After some googling, I decided to do a parody of the Titanic poster with jack and rose as cameras. I used fancy script fonts for the words ‘film festival’ and used a more classy font for the information. I like the way the cameras came out but I don't think the humor of the poster came out as clearly as I wanted.

The message of this poster is to raise awareness on the people who are being killed for being gay. I wanted to do something simple but powerful. I used the pink triangle as an empowering symbol, contrary to its history. I really liked how it turned out and I think it’s my best project so far. If I could change anything, I would make the arm of the fist go to the bottom of the triangle.
