Artist Statement: Henna VanHorn and Molly Schneider

We got our inspiration from the internet on a nice photo with a rock and a ruler. We tweaked the speech bubble a little. We started by outlining everything in black sharpie and then watercolor-painted all of it but the rainbow and the rock. The rock and rainbow were colored with markers. We like that it is a pun and we liked all the colors that we used. We would change the mistake we made with the sky, they are two different colors.

I have a lot of theatre related things because i love theatre. The two people are me and Henna opening night of lion king. The castle on a cloud is a reference from Les miserables. The stick is from lion king. I have the Disney logo because i love Disney movies. And i have a plane because i travel a lot.

I would redo henna and the plane.

I love the staff and the castle on a cloud and the mask.

Molly Schneider “Tomorrow Comes”

My tile is about the final scene in Les Miserables, they are in heaven.

Because i love this musical and i am a huge theatre geek.

I want to persuade people to watch this or listen to it and i wanted to inspire people with the quotes.

I don’t think i would change anything in the painting.

The character featured is one of my favorite characters in this musical, his name is enjolras. I also really love the flag.

Molly Schneider "Music of the Night

I decided to do this because i needed to do something inspired by Phantom Of the Opera.

I would try and redo the mask shape and make the roses more detailed.

My favorite part of the artwork is the music sheet. i like it because it flows.
