Course Description
Following the College Board’s suggested curriculum designed to parallel college-level English courses, AP English Literature and Composition courses enable students to develop critical standards for evaluating literature. Students will closely study various works of British and American literature; interpret and defend literary observations, both orally and in writing; and create a solid base understanding of classic literature. The course also includes intense preparation for each section of the AP English Literature and Composition exam. Students are strongly encouraged to take the AP Exam. Summer reading may be required. College credit varies by post-secondary institution.
