Army Instructor
Sergeant First Class Damon Grimshaw entered the U.S. Army October 10th, 2002 and attended Basic Combat Training at Fort Knox, Kentucky. He then attended Advanced Individual Training for the military occupational skill of Quarter Master and Chemical Repairer followed by Basic Airborne Course. Upon completion, he was assigned to 3rd Brigade, 3rd Infantry Division, Fort Benning, Georgia.
SFC Damon Grimshaw’s assignments include 173rd Airborne Brigade, 1st Ranger Battalion, National Training Center’s Operations Group, and his most recent assignment to Group Support Battalion, 10th Special Forces Group.
SFC Grimshaw has served in every leadership position to include Team Leader, Squad Leader, Maintenance Control Supervisor, Operations NCOIC, and Platoon Sergeant.
SFC Grimshaw’s combat tours include: two tours to Iraq and four tours to Afghanistan.
SFC Grimshaw’s military education includes the Warrior Leaders Course, Advanced Leaders Course, Senior Leaders Course, Master leaders Course, U.S. Army Ranger Course, Basic Airborne Course, Jump Master Course, Pathfinder Course and Winter Mobility Instructor Course.
His awards and decorations include the Meritorious Service Medal with one oak leaf cluster, Joint Commendation Medal, Army Commendation Medal with two oak leaf clusters, Army Achievement Medal with one silver oak leaf cluster, Army Good Conduct Medal (6th Award), National Defense Service Medal, Meritorious Unit Citation, Iraq Campaign Medal, Afghanistan Campaign Medal, Operation Inherent Resolve, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, NCO Professional Development Ribbon (Numeral 4), Overseas Service Ribbon (Numeral 2), NATO Medal, Combat Action Badge, Pathfinder Badge, Senior Parachutist Badge and the Drivers and Mechanics Badge.

Army Instructor Duties:
Assist the Senior Army Instructor (SAI)
Managing and conducting the JROTC program in accordance with United States Army Cadet Command (USACC) regulatory guidelines and school district rules, regulations, and policies
Accomplish the instructional, operations, and administrative mission of the JROTC program
Responsible for providing classroom instruction to cadets as established within the curriculum’s program of instruction (POI) as provided by USACC and school district guidelines and policies
Adheres to APS JROTC established operating procedures relating to administration, control, and training of cadets
Assists in establishing and maintaining viable extra-curricular activities such as Color Guards, Drill Teams, Raider Teams, Rifle Teams, Orienteering Teams and Academic Teams
