C/LTC Kenneth Nelson-Clemmons is the Drill Team commander, and the Armed Exhibition commander. C/LTC Nelson-Clemmons has also received the Superior Cadet Decoration, the Military Order of the World Wars medal, the Veterans of Foreign Wars Medal, and the LTC Alfred G. Nichols Officer of the Year award. C/LTC Clemmons has also earned two national placement medals at Rocky Mountain Nationals, a 1st place medal at Widefield area skills meet, and a 10th place drill down medal, as well as the 2022 Daytona Nationals medal. C/LTC Kenneth Nelson-Clemmons has previously been a Squad Leader, Platoon Sergeant, Company First Sergeant, Company Commander, the Battalion Adjutant, VEX Robotics Commander, and the Saber Team Commander.
Battalion Commander Duties:
Supervise Battalion Executive Officer
Supervise Battalion Command Sergeant Major
Supervise Company Commander
Directly Assist the Senior Army Instructor and the Army Instructor
Is responsible for all battalion activities
Sets battalion goals and objectives
Manages officer promotion and assignments
Provides planning guidance for battalion activities
Approves battalion plans and orders
Prepares the battalion for the JROTC Program for Accreditation (JPA)
Provides guidance to the company commanders - duties and responsibilities
Prepares and delivers the battalion commander part of the battalion briefing
Conducts periodic inspections
