In this introductory lesson, coders create a silly dance for Scratch Cat using motion blocks. The purpose of this lesson is to introduce young coders to creating algorithmic sequences in ScratchJr.
Standards
1A-AP-10 Develop programs with sequences and simple loops, to express ideas or address a problem.
1A-AP-08 Model daily processes by creating and following algorithms (sets of step-by-step instructions) to complete tasks.
1A-AP-11 Decompose (break down) the steps needed to solve a problem into a precise sequence of instructions.
1A-AP-15 Using correct terminology, describe steps taken and choices made during the iterative process of program development.
Scratch Jr. Project
CT Concept: ALGORITHM
Lesson Plan includes Equitable Access
The purpose of this project is to introduce young coders to repeating algorithmic sequences in ScratchJr.
Coders use the green flag block to create a story about their favorite food chasing them. Students will use motion blocks and repeat block.
