Celebration Evening

Photo: Paloma Bravo Córdova

During this evening we had a performance by Esquimalt Traditional Dancers, followed by the announcement of coaches who were certified since the past Rally, the announcement of the Conservation Standards photostory contest winners, the celebration of the recently translated version of the Conservation Standards 4.0 to Spanish, and the announcement of the Brad Northrup Global Service Awards.

Our celebration evening also included a dance party with music from around the World, proposed by coaches.

2022 Photo Story Awards

A single story has the power to change the world. It is through storytelling that we share ideas, spark the imagination, and connect to one another. Photography offers a visually compelling way to share stories and reach a wide audience.

Our 2022 competition focused on looking for conservation projects across the globe that were captured visually to tell their story and highlight their use of the Conservation Standards.

The winners from this year’s competition who inspired us with their visual storytelling and impactful programs are:

1st Place - Endangered Wildlife Trust / International Crane Foundation

2nd Place - Wildlife Conservation Society - Central African Republic

3rd Place - Parks Canada - Point Pelee National Park

And the following stories received Honorable Mentions:

Southern Lakes Sanctuary

CONAF - Chilean Palm

We congratulate the winners and thank the CS promotion team and our 2022 judges!

2022 Brad Northrup Global Service Awards

During Coach Rallies, awards are handed out to individuals who have made significant contributions to the Network.

Brad Northrup, our dear colleague and champion for us in the Conservation Coaches Network, passed on peacefully in May this year. Brad used to say that “what fuels CCNet is generosity”, and we are deeply grateful for the many years he led by example, serving our community with grace.

One thing we can all do is to honor this exceptional human being by generating even a little bit of his hope, kindness, wisdom, integrity, generosity, and steadfast resolve to do the best conservation work, with the greatest humility we can possibly muster.

And, we have renamed CCNet’s Global Service Award the Brad Northrup Global Service Award. You can learn more about awardees here.

Here you can learn more about this remarkable colleague.

We thank and celebrate our Rally 2022 awardees and invite you to read more about each awardee here:
