The service is the act of putting the ball into play by the back-right player.
The team who serves first is decided by a coin toss. (or rock-paper scissors, or by whose name appears first on the fixture list, depending on the tournament format)
The referee should check both teams are ready before blowing the whistle and signalling for service;
Each player must serve in order;
If the serving team win the point, the same player serves again;
If the receiving team wins the point, they rotate, before serving the next point. The player moving from front-right to back-right must serve;
The ball must be released (tossed) before being hit;
The ball must be hit with one hand (or any part of the arm);
If the ball hits the net during a serve, play continues;
The player must be inside the side lines of the court;
The serving player must not touch any part of the court, including the lines before contacting the ball;
The serve must take place within 8 seconds after the whistle is blown
If the serve is made before the referee whistles, the serve is cancelled and repeated;
The wrong player serves;
The server does not execute the serve properly;
Tosses the ball and catches it again;
The ball doesn’t cross the net;
The ball hits a player on the serving team;
The ball goes ‘out’;
Players must be in their correct order when the serve is hit;
