The ball is ‘in play’ from the moment of the hit of the service authorised by the 1st referee
The ball is ‘out of play’ at the moment of the fault which is whistled by one of the referees, or at the moment of the whistle.
The ball is ‘in’ if any part of the ball touches the court, including the lines.
The ball is ‘out’ when:
All parts of the ball contact the floor outside the lines
It touches an object outside the court
It hits the ceiling
It touches the antennae, ropes, posts or the net outside the side bands
It crosses the net outside the antennae
It completely crosses under the net
