During play the 1st referee watches for:

• Service faults ;

• Rotation (player position) faults of the serving team;

• Ball handling faults (carry or double touch);

• Net faults (with focus on the attacking side);

• The ball crossing completely under the net;

• The ball crossing outside the crossing space, on their side of the court.

During play the 2nd referee watches for:

• Penetration into the opponents’ court and the space under the net;

• Rotation (player position) faults of the receiving team;

• Net faults (with focus on the defending side);

• Contact of the ball with the floor when the 1st referee is not in position to see the contact;

• The ball crossing outside the crossing space, on their side of the court.

The scorer should:

• Records points scored

• Control time outs

• Control the order of serving and indicates errors to the referee immediately after the serve

• Control substitutions

• Announce to the referee the end of sets

• Reports the score to the tournament organiser at the end of each match.
