During play the 1st referee watches for:
Service faults ;
Rotation (player position) faults of the serving team;
Ball handling faults (carry or double touch);
Net faults (with focus on the attacking side);
The ball crossing completely under the net;
The ball crossing outside the crossing space, on their side of the court.
During play the 2nd referee watches for:
Penetration into the opponents’ court and the space under the net;
Rotation (player position) faults of the receiving team;
Net faults (with focus on the defending side);
Contact of the ball with the floor when the 1st referee is not in position to see the contact;
The ball crossing outside the crossing space, on their side of the court.
The scorer should:
Records points scored
Control time outs
Control the order of serving and indicates errors to the referee immediately after the serve
Control substitutions
Announce to the referee the end of sets
Reports the score to the tournament organiser at the end of each match.
