A block is when players close to the net intercept the ball coming from an opponent by reaching above the height of the net;
A block attempt is the action of blocking without touching the ball;
Consecutive (quick and continuous) contacts with the ball may occur by one or more blockers, provided the contacts are made during one action;
When blocking, a player may reach across the net, provided they do not interfere with the opponent’s play;
It is not permitted to touch the ball in the opponent’s court until an attack hit has been executed.
A block touch does not count towards team hits;
The next contact after a block can be executed by any player, including the blocker.
Blocking a service is forbidden.
A blocker touches the ball on the opponent’s side of the net before an attack hit is completed;
Blocking a serve;
The ball goes out after touching a block;
Blocking outside the antennae (usually at U14 level, there are no antennae).
