Hello Kindergarten Families
We hope you find these lessons helpful and fun. Kindergartners need to be moving for at least 60 minutes a day. That may sound like a lot but kids don't have to move for 60 minutes in a row. You can spread activity throughout the day.
You can find all the Kindergarten PE lessons here. Mix and match and redo favorites.
Click here for a list of things you might have at home that can be used for PE.
Dance along with a few of these videos or dance to three of your favorite songs.

Tabata training is a 4 minute workout where participants alternate between 20 seconds of exercise followed by a 10-second rest. We have fun with these fast paced workouts. You can choose 8 different movements on your own and use a timer or find a song on iTunes or Youtube meant for tabata. You can also follow along in one of these videos:

This is similar to an activity we did earlier in the year called Paddle It Up.
Students will need:
A partner
Two books (thin hardbacks, notebooks, even a thick magazine)
A ball (sock ball or balled up paper work great)
Hit the ball between two or more partners with books as paddles.
Pro tip: hold the book with two hands.
Play a song and see how many times you can hit the ball before the song finishes. If the ball falls, just pick it up and keep counting your hits where you left off.
Challenge: How many times can you hit the ball back and forth without letting it hit the ground?
Students will need:
A partner
Two different colored balls. (balled up socks work great)
A third object or ball to the the target or the pallino
To start, player one throws or rolls the pallino out in the playing area.
Then each player rolls his or her ball with an underhand roll towards the pallino.
The person who is closest to the pallino wins a point.
Player two then rolls out the pallino. Players take turns rolling their ball towards the pallino.
Continue to play, alternating who throws out the pallino, until one player reaches 10 points.
The first player to reach 10 points is the winner!

These are ideas to get you and your family moving.
Set a goal for how many of these can you do this month.
Learning how to tie a shoe gives students confidence, independence,
and more time to participate in PE and other activities.
Click here for five different shoe tying methods. The first way is the traditional way
and will work with the most laces and the most shoes.
Help your student chose the one that works best for them and then practice at least four times a day.
