Hello Kindergarten Families
We are so excited to be working with y'all for the rest of the year to keep you moving and healthy.
Each week we will put up some activities and a health related lesson for you to do with your kindergartner. You can do these everyday or as often as you want. If you have favorite lessons or activities, you can easily mix those in with the current week's activities. Kindergartners need to be moving for at least 60 minutes a day. That may sound like a lot but kids don't have to move for 60 minutes in a row. You can spread activity throughout the day.
Each week you will find:
A Warm Up
Activities
A Monthly Calendar of ideas to get moving
You can find all the Kindergarten PE lessons here. Each week, we will add a new lesson.
Click here for a list of things you might have at home that can be used for PE.
Dance along with a few of these videos or dance to three of your favorite songs.

Memory Movement Game
Draw shapes, numbers, simple words, colors, etc., on paper plates. Each shape or word needs to have a matching plate.
Use crayons or colored pencils. Markers will show through.
Arrange plates face down in a group or array.
Have a starting line away from the plates.
On a signal child will do a locomotor skill (jog, hop, skip, crawl, etc) to the plates and turn over 2 plates hoping to get a match.
If they don’t find a match they will turn plates back over and return to the starting line.
Then they try it again with another locomotor skill. If they do find a match they can attempt to find another match.
Game ends when all the matches are found.
Lots of fun and variations can be used depending on time and ability. How can you change this game? How can you challenge a family member? Can you do it with more plates?
If you have fun with this, we would enjoy seeing what you did. You can leave a video in the Flipgrid here.
Target Toss Game (remember Bozo's The Grand Prize Game?)
An object is tossed and attempts are made to land it on a target.
A beanbag, sock, or even a stuffed animal could be used to toss.
You can use any type of plate or bowl or even pieces of notebook paper to make a target.
This game can have many different variations:
Space the targets near or far
Put points on the targets to take score
Be creative and Have FUN!!
