My name is Anthony Aguilar, and I am a senior currently serving as the Bellflower Middle and High School Associated Student Body President for the 2022-2023 school year. Our ASB Change Agents are a fantastic group of middle and high school leaders in grades 7-12. This group is diverse, talented, compassionate, and dedicated to improving the culture of our school and its community. These selected individuals represent student leadership and what it means to be a Bellflower Buccaneer. Our central mission is to give every student the best experience possible on campus, teach the importance of BUC P.R.I.D.E., and support the community surrounding us. As student leaders, we continuously consider different methods which can positively impact our school and its community. Here at Bellflower, our ASB team ensures that every event is enjoyable for everyone, as we like to create a welcoming environment where there is a feeling of inclusivity. We effectively address all of the important areas of student leadership by dividing them into committees: Recognition, Media and Marketing, Athletics, Spirit, and Rallies/Activities. 

We value the opinions from staff, students, and the community who help us to make each activity bigger and better than the last, such as this year’s Fall Fest which was put together with the help of our school’s club and organizations, community members, staffulty, and families. We were not only able to make it a fun experience for our students and their families, but we were also able to raise $15,000 for the clubs and organizations on our campus. We made it a priority to raise money to fund our school’s activities by partnering with different fast-food restaurants with fundraisers to increase revenue. 

Bellflower Middle/High School’s ASB acknowledges everything on campus, big and small because we believe that every activity has the potential to impact our school in the best way possible. We continue to build what we believe is a robust platform for student, staffulty, and community engagement on campus. We hosted several fun activities like Homecoming festivities, Winter Snack rally, and a Holiday Parade. We showcased the unity between our extracurricular activities while having a positive attitude. These are just some of the great ideas you will find in our application that make Bellflower Middle/High School stand out. As leaders, we make it our primary goal to create an inclusive and supportive school culture for our students, staffulty, and community. By focusing on the aspects of Buc P.R.I.D.E, Positivity, Respect, Integrity, Dedication, and Excellence, our Change Agents have successfully set up a structure for future generations of leaders to help make our school and our world a better place.
