Events That Reflect Multiple Cultures, Groups, & Points of View
Over the years our Asb team has created so many different events that reflect multiple cultures and point of views. These events allow students to join groups, make connections, and show the variety of amazing differences they may present. These events allow students to reflect upon the multiple different cultures and ethnic groups. For example, An excellent method for students to feel included and a part of something significant is through club rush. Students have the option to join any club they feel welcome to or wish to join and participate in. ASB puts on these events so that different groups such as the Filipino club or the butterfly effect club are given the opportunity to branch out and educate people about the culture or groups. Fall Fest is a very big event that we put on during the fall that is open to the community. This is a significant event that allows all clubs, sports teams, and organizations to raise funds for themselves and educate the public about the groups. They are able to sell customary foods as well as a variety of other goods and many ethnic groups use this to show there cultures foods and drinks. Additionally, it aids in the expansion of their club's membership and fan base which then allows different people from our school to learn about these groups and reflect on the different cultures. We also have announcements which discuss the many different events happening and allows clubs and groups to have a voice in wanting to get their word out there. We also decorate our school during a month where events such as Hispanic Heritage Month, and Black History Month are going on.We also hold lunchtime rallies which allows clubs, sports and ethnic groups to to express their opinions and draw additional members to their group. Additionally, social media contributions from various student groups and cultures are highlighted. Our school page shares holidays on social media sites like Instagram to encourage students and families to celebrate. We urge students to be involved and try their best to reflect upon the many different groups, multiple cultures and point of views.
