Student Expectations for the AP Summer Writing Seminar
Welcome to your AP Summer Seminar adventure! Let’s make sure everyone has a great experience by following these important expectations:
This course is all about preparing YOU — not your friend, your AI chatbot, or your dog.
Complete your own Flip Notes, Practicums, and End of Lesson Questions honestly.
Copying someone else’s work, AI-generated answers, or using unauthorized help is a no-go. Let’s keep it classy and show what you know!
Got questions or stuck on something? Email me at bhentze@bths201.org — don’t use Google Chat (I might miss your message)!
I check email regularly and will get back to you as soon as I can.
Give me at least 24 hours to respond, especially on weekends or holidays. I promise I’m not ignoring you — sometimes I’m just busy planning your next awesome assignment.
Don’t wait until you’re overwhelmed — I’m here to help!
If you’re confused about an assignment or a topic, email me sooner rather than later so we can sort it out together.
Late work will not be accepted without prior approval from me.
Prior consent for late submissions will be given on a case-by-case basis, and remember:
Just an Head's Up! Failure to plan ahead 🥴 is not a reason for prior consent!
If you know you’ll have a conflict (vacation, camp, etc.), let me know before the due date, and we can plan together.
This summer seminar is designed to help you hit the ground running in the fall. Stay organized, pace yourself, and take pride in your work — you’ve got this!
