In Middle Phase, the vast majority of students follow the full core curriculum outlined in the Subjects & Curriculum section here.
Additional subject options are available only for students who are Arabic Second Language speakers and Non Muslim students
These option pathways take place during curriculum time allocated to Arabic and Islamic Studies and allow students to study alternative subjects as part of their timetable.
Further information regarding these pathways, including available subjects and how placements are determined, will be shared with relevant students and families during the transition process and at the start of the academic year.
As students move through Middle Phase, they will also begin to learn more about the future subject choices and pathways available within Higher Phase, including IGCSE and A Level study. Staff will continue to guide and support students throughout this process as they progress through the school.
Arabic Second Language Options
Arabic Second Language Options
Students following the Arabic Second Language pathway will study alternative option subjects during allocated curriculum time.
Year 6
Students may study: Extra Computing, Extra Art or Extra Drama
Years 7 & 8
Students may study: Critical Thinking or Music
Option availability may vary depending on timetabling and student numbers.
Non-Muslim Options
Non-Muslim Options
Students who are non Muslim will study an alternative subject pathway during Islamic Studies curriculum time.
Students may study: Design Technology (DT) or German
Option availability may vary depending on timetabling and student numbers.
