BEFORE you approach a workplace...

Before you organise work experience, visit the Careers Hub to discuss your idea.

In general, most large organisations, eg. Bendigo Health, St John of God, Bendigo Bank, Thales, etc all require enquiries to be done by the Careers Hub and students cannot approach them individually

All other places - e.g. schools, early learning centres, trades, retail, legal, gyms, hospitality, etc - you will need to approach them yourself.

Before you approach the workplace you must:

It is a good idea to start thinking NOW about where you want to go, developing contacts (chatting with your family about who you know) and start building a network.

Are you doing a VET subject this year?

Structured Workplace Learning (SWL) is similar to Work Experience, but is connected to your VET subject. It allows you to be more 'hands-on' and practise the skills you are learning in VET (e.g. building and construction).

***IF THIS IS YOU, please see the Careers Hub team ASAP as your requirements are different***

OHS - Occupational Health and Safety Requirements

Prior to commencing work experience, you must satisfactorily complete occupational health and safety (OHS) training. You must complete x2 safe@work modules/certificates.

1 - OHS General Module

2 - OHS Industry-Specific Module

Unfortunately, you cannot attend Work Experience without having completed these.

Both of these certificates must be given to The Careers Hub (H5).

Please make sure that you spell your name and the College name correctly.
