Under the supervision of trained staff typical tasks and duties may include:
Assisting plumbing tradespeople with various tasks that may involve digging, sewage, and general plumbing

JOINER / CABINET MAKER - Custom Design Kitchens and Joinery
In this position students will support the tradesmen to make, repair or install kitchens and cabinetry using solid timber, flat-panel or timber based products and a wide range of laminates and other materials.
You will have the opportunity to ask questions and learn how to determine the requirements of each specific job, and measure and draw site layouts for manufactured furniture. You will read and interpret work documents to assist with cutting lists,and learn to understand and select timber products for production. Install hardware to furnishings, such as handles and hinges.
General tasks include:
Unpacking and stacking timber and other materials
Preparation for cabinet installation
Assisting tradesmen with cutting and joining timber and other materials
Assisting in kitchen installations and other cabinets in new and renovated houses

Placements are open to students in Victorian schools who are residents of Victoria, and are aged 15 years or over at the time of the placement.
Students can choose between two programs, Sitting and Services.
Parliamentary Sitting placements provide the opportunity to see the law-making process up close. Students will go behind the scenes with the staff who directly support the sittings of Parliament to get a deeper understanding of our democratic processes.
Parliamentary Services placements offer a variety of opportunities that can be matched with a broad range of student interests and career goals, including business operations, facilities management and maintenance, broadcast (Hansard), and hospitality (kitchen).
