Tips for when you phone or approach a business:
Introduce yourself: Hello, my name is... I am a Year 10 student at Bendigo South East College and I am interested in your industry. I am wondering if there would be any chance you would consider taking me for a 1-week work experience placement, please.
You can then go on to mention the specific dates (which you will have by now)
If they say YES, thank them for the opportunity, get their name, give them your details (they may wish for you to send an email as a follow up to the conversation) and let them know you will bring the forms in.
If they say NO, thank them for their time.
If you approach in person, you need to be dressed well.
Wearing your school uniform (worn correctly) would be fine.Â
