VCE
Victorian Certificate of Education
At BSE, we offer a range of VCE subjects to support an accelerated program, helping to begin your senior school pathway:
VCE Biology Unit 1/2
VCE Business Management Unit 1/2
VCE Health and Human Development Unit 1/2
VCE Psychology Unit 1/2
At BSE, we also offer the following VET subjects:
VET Automotive
VET Building and Construction
Following on from BSE, students will likely transition to BSSC. The most common program choice for students moving up to BSSC for their senior education will be the VCE program. This can provide a pathway into university, TAFE or employment. The VCE program is the most direct pathway into university. Students who have already successfully completed an accelerated VCE Unit 1/2 at BSE will have the option of continuing their studies for this subject at BSSC, choosing to complete Unit 3/4 within their senior program.
At BSSC, within the VCE program, students can select a range of VCE subjects, along with any VET subjects, to create their program. There is a lot of flexibility to suit your potential pathway options.
To successfully achieve your VCE, you must:
Satisfactorily complete 16 units within your program
Including 3 English units with 2 of those being a Unit 3/4 sequence
Including 3 other Unit 3/4 sequences
You choose the rest of your program (which can include VET subjects - see far below)
A standard program is made up of 5 subjects each semester each year

VET - Vocational Education and Training
VET (Vocational Education and Training) subjects can be a fantastic inclusion into your VCE program, giving you the opportunity to develop industry-specific knowledge and skills, as well as general skills needed for employment, training, and further education.
VET gives you practical skills relevant to your many talents, and helps you work towards a formal VET certificate. This can range from Health Support Services to Building and Construction.
