GVSU has a variety of merit-based scholarships available. These include:
Annual Award: $1,000
Awarded at application review specifically to students that have graduated from a GVSU Charter High School
Must maintain Satisfactory Academic Progress at Grand Valley
Requires full-time enrollment
Students receiving this scholarship are also encouraged to participate in one of the structured student success programs on campus
Renewable for three additional consecutive years
Total award value: $4,000
Award Amount: $1,000
To qualify, students must sign-up for orientation, apply for on-campus housing, and file the 25-26 FAFSA all by March 1, 2026
Student must have been admitted for the Fall 2026 semester to qualify
Scholarship requires full-time enrollment
This scholarship is renewable as long as the student earns a 3.0 cumulative GPA, and earns 24 GVSU credit hours each year
Renewable for three additional consecutive years
Total award value: $4,000
Annual Award: Michigan Resident: $1,000; Non-Michigan Resident: $1,000 plus the difference between full-time Michigan resident tuition and non-resident tuition
Must have a 3.3 or higher high school cumulative grade point average
Must maintain Satisfactory Academic Progress at Grand Valley
Requires full-time enrollment
Renewable for three additional consecutive years
Cannot be combined with Award for Excellence, Faculty, or Presidential Scholarship

ENGINEERING SCHOLARSHIP
New engineering scholarship for incoming GVSU students
The Padnos College of Engineering announced a new, competitive scholarship program for incoming students admitted to the engineering program at GVSU in Fall 2026 or 2027. Recipients can receive up to $15,000 per year (based on unmet need). GVSU charter students heading to GVSU this fall should visit the scholarship website to learn more. Students interested who know they are interested in engineering should select that interest on their GVSU application by March 30 to ensure they are eligible.
