Sophomore Year

Fall/Spring - Begin to Explore Colleges

All Year - Focus on Academics 

April - Take PSAT as part of MSTEP testing

Junior Year

October - Take PSAT to qualify for National Merit 

Spring - Students and Parents Attend Junior Night Presentation at BR, Juniors Encouraged to Attend West Michigan National College Fair or Virtual NACAC Fairs

April - Take M-STEP including the SAT

Spring - Visit schools 

May - Make a List of Schools of Interest on Naviance (Colleges I'm Thinking About List)

June - Take ACT is desired

Senior Year

August - Check Deadlines for Schools of Interest

August/September - Begin Applications

September - Request Letters of Recommendation

October/November - Finish applications and attend FAFSA Night

December - FAFSA opens for completion

January - work on filling out FAFSA Form

March 1 - Submit FAFSA by this preferred deadline (may be later if FAFSA does not open as expected)

March-May - make final decision and submit deposit
