APPLICATION INFORMATION
OTTAWA COUNTY BAR ASSOCIATION
ELISE JOY FRANTZ SCHOLARSHIP AWARD
PURPOSE:
To recognize an outstanding high school senior who has shown respect for the law and a special interest in our constitution and government and who plans to develop these interests through further education at a college or university.
AMOUNT OF AWARD:
One-time payment of $1,500.00
APPLICANT POOL:
High School Seniors who either reside or attend school within Ottawa County.
APPLICANT CRITERIA:
College bound senior
3.0 G.P.A. or equivalent
Demonstrated interest in government, civics, economics, or social studies
Recommendation of principal and/or teacher of above-listed courses.
Good moral character
Participation or special interest in law-related activities
METHOD OF SELECTION:
Candidates to be interviewed and final selection to be made by the Bar Association Selection Committee.
PRESENTATION OF AWARD:
Award to be presented in conjunction with Law Day activities at an awards dinner.
METHOD AND TIME OF PAYMENT:
Direct payment by check or draft to the college or university chosen by the candidate within 90 days of the commencement of the first full term of study.
INELIGIBILITY:
Any family member or relative of the members of the Selection Committee.
DEADLINE FOR SUBMISSION OF APPLICATIONS: Mid-April each year (April 22, 2024)
