Do teachers go to college?
. Yes! To be a teacher you have to go to college to learn about the subjects we teach and learn different ways on how to be the best teachers for you.
What do teachers like?
Teachers like a lot of things. A few of my favorite things (to do) are: spend time with my family and friends, listen to music or watch movies.
How long do you have to study?
To be a teacher, you have to go to college for at least 4 years to earn your Bachelor’s degree. Currently I am in the process of earning my next degree, a Master’s degree.
Who was your favorite teacher?
I have a few favorite teachers, my 2nd grade, 3rd grade and a 6th grade teacher were all my favorites -- they made learning fun and took time to know what I like and how to help me excel in school.
How old are you?
I am 26, 27 in May.
Do you have to do a lot of work?
Teachers work more than other people think we do. I work to help students read so I have to plan out my lessons and prepare materials for my small groups each day as well as attend meetings each month.
Are you proud to be a teacher?
Yes. I love teaching and knowing that my students are learning and growing academically each day. It is a rewarding career.
Do you have to be good?
It is best if teachers are good at their career. It is even better if they strive to be learners each day just like you! We are always learning something new to help us be even better teachers to prepare you for the next grade.
Do you have to write a lot?
I do write a lot. Some things that require a form of writing are: emails, taking note for a meeting, writing down on my consistency chart.
Do you have to do a lot of math?
For my teaching position, I don’t have to a lot of math, however, throughout your school experience, you will have to know how to do math for knowing how to pay bills or pay for items you want to buy.
How are you mean to students?
Teachers are not intending to be mean. Teachers may speak in a stern voice but we strive each and every day to assure you are learning. Teachers may disagree with you and that’s okay but it’s good to listen to your teacher the first time you’re asked to follow an expectation in class / school.
How are you kind to kids?
I try to get to know my students (likes, dislikes, listen to their stories) and use that in my teaching so they will not only find learning relatable, but fun too!
How can you be the best teacher?
I can be the best teacher by still learning each day, from you, my colleagues (other teachers / staff I work with), even my own college teachers too! I am always learning how I can improve and better my teaching.
