Is it fun to make stuff?
Uhhh yes! Both at and after work, It actually started in middle school with Microsoft paint because my penmanship isn't great, Or even decent.
What’s your favorite part of your job?
Being able to take creative liberties in my day to day work and then seeing the finished projects later on national TV
Is it easy to make stuff, or hard?
That's a tricky question, some days that creative energy isn't there and it shows. I also have to remind myself that the customer is always right and although I don't like the direction they are taking they do. However, that doesn't stop me from advising.
What do you use to make art?
Mostly Illustrator to design my work but it doesn't stop there. If it's plastic it gets sent over to a laser cutter that uses several different fabrics such as twill or plastics, a melco embroidery machine that can create about any sort of patch I can dream of to be applied onto a garment.
Is it fun or boring there?
Everything has it's boring days but it's certainly hands on which I enjoy.
Do you have to go to college?
Yes but you do not need a degree in graphic arts as mine is in English/Journalism
Do you have to practice art?
Without a doubt! You need several years of proven illustrator or a similar graphic design tool.
How do you learn to make stuff?
All electronically! The machines do the rest.
What do you make?
Sports uniforms for professional and college level athletes. Under Armor has factories for their retail apparel in other countries but prides themselves in having their pro gear created in the U.S.
