Following your interview you should have been given the information below.
You will hopefully now have completed some of these steps.
Due to the delayed start of the course (Jan 2022), the University will prioritise communication with the students starting in September, so please be patient
You will be informed by telephone soon after the interview with a decision. If you are successful will be offered a place both in the NHS Trust (as a student) and for a place on the university programme. You have made your NHS application via NHS Jobs, but you will now need to follow the admission process for your place in the university.
You will receive notification in writing of your offer by both the NHS Trust with the terms of your Employment offer, and again by the University, with a list of conditions which will need to be met for this condition to be a firm, unconditional offer. There will also be a link to allow you access to the application process for the University. You will have access to a portal to keep up to date with your admissions process.
It is very important that you take responsibility in managing the process between your conditional offer and the start date in September, as your participation in this communication pathway is essential to ensure your offer still stands and that we make this process as smooth as it can be.
There are some areas of unavoidable duplication in the admissions process, we would like to make sure that you understand the reason for this, as not supplying important information can slow your admission to the university and employment down, ultimately your offer can be withdrawn.
Please respond to all requests from BOTH your Employing NHS Trust and the University, the notes below can help you in reducing some duplication.
1. Your NMC Pin number will be requested on the day of, or after your interview to check your entry on the register
2. You will be contacted by the University with your offer, which will indicate that you need to make an application to the University – there will be a link for you to do this. This will then give you entry to a portal where you can check your progress and upload the required documentation for the application process.
3. We will require evidence of your ‘sponsorship’: Please upload to the portal or send a scanned version (or forward an email) of your offer letter from the NHS Trust (who will sponsor your place) to admissions-hls@brookes.ac.uk.
4. It is important in your place of employment you have a current DBS check, this is to ensure you meet the NHS requirements for safeguarding the public. Oxford Brookes also have a DBS process, we are also bound by the NMC to ensure that you have a current DBS in place, we will arrange for you to have a new one for your role as a student – this MUST be both Child and Adult and fully enhanced. If you are new to an NHS Trust you may need two new DBS’s. Being timely in replying to any correspondence about this will avoid unnecessary worry later.
5. Please copy and paste your NHS Job personal statement into the University application where it is indicated, to avoid duplication.
6. An offer letter will then be sent to you with two further conditions (References and qualifications)
7. Qualifications –this certificate or transcript should include the name of the qualification on which you are demonstrating as evidence for entry to the programme. IT IS YOUR RESPONSIBILITY to seek out this evidence if you have lost it, contact your previous university for another copy.
8. When requesting references from your colleagues in your NHS jobs Application, please ask for a copy of these to use in your university application (the same references) we will not chase these, they must be submitted by you.
9. When these conditions are met, an UNCONDITIONAL will be made to you.
Please ensure you keep to one email address in all of your communication and application to the university to avoid any confusion.
The programme administrator - Sadia Azeem (sazeem@brookes.ac.uk) will contact you to make ensnarement to enroll onto the programme - you are able to do this before induction week.
