Although this year has been difficult for everyone, Olive Middle School and the Lancers have pushed through all the struggles.
We've been in quarantine for the past two years, and forced to learn through a Google Meet all last year. Many people dealt with a variety of problems. Some students needed support from their friends and family and couldn't receive it as they were stuck in their home. Some students couldn't work efficiently online and needed help with their work but didn't know how to reach out. However, we are now IN PERSON!!
Students are back from distance learning and back to in-person learning! Now, students can really connect with each other and their teachers a lot easier.
In distance learning, a lot of learning time was lost because not all students found it easy to focus during the online classes. Not only was it difficult for students to focus, but it also took a toll on a lot of people's mental health. Just staying at home staring at a screen all day was unhealthy and also difficult for both teachers and students.
Olive Middle takes safety precautions to ensure that students are safe at school. This includes the cleaning of classes and locker rooms. In the unlikely event a student is confirmed to have COVID-19, Olive takes the proper safety precautions to ensure that students that have come in contact with the student are asked for the vaccination records and are sent to quarantine if not vaccinated.
Google Meet was one of the meeting websites used for students and teachers to meet up and connect.
