BPSU-Main Campus, May 13 — Through its Technology Entrepreneurship and Transfer Office (TETO), BPSU welcomed 34 students from Temasek Polytechnic, Singapore, along with faculty members Ms. Nadia Ghazali Marican and Mr. Sebastian Hui, for a visit focused on learning about the university’s technology transfer initiatives. Supported by the DR3AM Center, the students explored BPSU’s approach to innovation, prototyping, and technopreneurship.
The students engaged in a range of activities that introduced them to BPSU’s efforts in supporting innovation and startup development. They learned about the services offered by BPSU TETO and its key units—the Technology Transfer Unit (BPSU TETU), SIKAT Technology Business Incubator (TBI), and SINAG Agri-Aqua Technology Business Incubator (ATBI)—which guide research-based technologies toward practical application and market viability. This visit also highlighted how BPSU, together with Temasek Polytechnic, is a partner with SIKAT in the ongoing development of the Startup Ecosystem in Bataan.
The delegates also toured the DR3AM Center, led by its manager, Dr. John Ryan C. Dizon, who also serves as Director of the BPSU TETO. They visited the DOST NRCP-funded laboratory and the BPSU FabLab to observe how the university utilizes advanced equipment and digital fabrication in support of product development and research-based innovation.
A highlight of the visit was the hands-on activity, where students engaged in CAD modeling to 3D printing. For many, it was their first time interacting with the technology. This hands-on experience offered valuable insights into how rapid prototyping supports the early stages of product development and business creation, giving the students practical skills they can apply in future technopreneurial ventures.
The visit emphasized BPSU’s commitment to technopreneurship, encouraging students to explore technology-driven entrepreneurship as a promising career path. Through this initiative, BPSU TETO, in collaboration with the DR3AM Center, continues to promote innovation and research utilization, facilitating knowledge exchange with international academic institutions.
