DR. EDUARDO S. TINAO
Manager, Intellectual Property Unit
Dr. Eduardo S. Tinao, born on November 11, 1972, holds a Doctor of Philosophy degree in Technology Education from Rizal Technological University. Currently, he serves as a Professor V at Bataan Peninsula State University (BPSU) in Balanga City, Bataan, accredited by the Philippine Association of State Universities and Colleges (PASUC). Since 2012, he has managed BPSU’s Innovation and Technology Support Office (ITSO), a franchise of the Intellectual Property Office of the Philippines (IPOPhl), and he presently holds the position of Intellectual Property Manager at BPSU.
Dr. Tinao is also a Project Leader for an ongoing research initiative under the Department of Science and Technology - Philippine Council for Agriculture, Aquatic, and Natural Resources Research and Development (DOST-PCAARRD) program called "RAISE" (Realizing Innovations for Startups and Enterprises), focusing on Intellectual Property and Technology Business Management (IPTBM). Recognized for his contributions, he has been honored as a National Intellectual Property Champion by the Intellectual Property Office of the Philippines. Outside his professional responsibilities, Prof. Tinao is passionate about inventing, developing utility models, and drafting patent specifications.
MS. ANDREA O. DE JESUS
Patent Manager, Intellectual Property Unit
Ms. Andrea O. De Jesus is a skilled professional with a background in Civil Engineering and a focus on Intellectual Property (IP) Management. She holds a bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering and has pursued graduate studies in Engineering Management, where she completed several units by 2019. With a growing specialization in IP, Ms. De Jesus has invested in an array of international IP trainings and distance learning courses from 2020 to 2022, gaining in-depth knowledge of global IP practices and protection strategies.
In 2021, Ms. De Jesus undertook specialized IP study courses in Osaka, Japan, where she honed her skills in IP management, further strengthening her ability to safeguard and oversee IP assets. Additionally, she targeted seminars on IP valuation and commercialization seminars under the Intellectual Property Office of the Philippines (IPOPHL) in 2023.
Her commitment to continuous learning has built a well-rounded foundation, making her an asset in the intellectual property landscape. This extensive preparation highlights her competence as a patent manager where her skills can guide innovators through the complex terrain of IP protection and management.
