With a resounding echo of innovation and institutional excellence, BPSU once again proved its mettle on the national stage as it received its second Platinum Award for Excellence from the Intellectual Property Office of the Philippines (IPOPHL) during the 2025 ITSO Presidents’ Summit and General Assembly, held on April 10, 2025, at the Sequoia Hotel, Manila Bay.
Bearing the powerful theme “Empowering ITSOs Towards Global Recognition of Innovation Breakthroughs,” this year’s summit convened top-performing Innovation and Technology Support Offices (ITSOs) from across the country in a grand celebration of National Intellectual Property Month. The event honored trailblazing institutions that continue to champion the cause of innovation, IP creation, and technology transfer in the Philippines.
Representing the University in this glorious occasion were University President Dr. Ruby B. Santos-Matibag, Intellectual Property Unit (INPU) Manager Dr. Eduardo S. Tinao, and INPU Patent Manager Ms. Andrea O. De Jesus—each a stalwart figure in BPSU’s steadfast commitment to innovation-led development.
The Platinum Award for Excellence, one of IPOPHL’s highest institutional recognitions, is awarded to ITSOs that have demonstrated exceptional performance in fostering a strong intellectual property culture and producing impactful innovation outputs. This year’s honor marks BPSU’s second consecutive Platinum distinction, the first of which was received on March 18, 2024, cementing the University’s status as a consistent national frontrunner in the field.
The event not only spotlighted institutional accomplishments but also inspired collaboration, knowledge sharing, and strategic alignment among ITSOs nationwide. For BPSU, it reaffirmed a clear trajectory: one that leads ever forward—towards global recognition, innovation excellence, and meaningful societal impact.
As the University carves an indelible mark in the innovation landscape, its triumph at the 2025 ITSO Summit serves not only as an accolade, but a beacon—guiding future breakthroughs and inspiring a generation of innovators, researchers, and leaders.
