Lesson

1. Day #1 Stations:

   1. • Station #1  - Blooket: WWI Tools of Propaganda 

      • Stations #2-7 Include the following artifacts & resources:

        1. 1. WWI Postcards/Pictures - Reuter Collection (anything loose is Reuter Collection) - See WWI Propaganda Poster Note Sheet for the MLA8 citations.

           2.  WWI Soldier's Uniform (Digital Images) - Cantigny War Trunk

           3. WWI Books & Reuter Collection (anything loose is Reuter Collection)

           4. WWI Newspapers & WWI Nurse's (Red Cross) Uniform - Cantigny War Trunk

           5. WWI Artifacts  (Digital Images) - Cantigny War Trunk

           6. Find Catchy Slogans in Sheet Music  - Use for inspiration to make your headings for your poster.

           7. WWI Picture Books (See WWI Propaganda Poster Note Sheet for the MLA8 citations)

      • Station #8 - See Women's Suffrage clothes/artifacts.

        1. 2. • Go over Propaganda Posters & requirements for student posters (Mrs. Whelpley)

• • • • Fill in WWII Propaganda Poster Note Sheet (student copy on Google Classroom) as you find evidence for your propaganda poster as you go through each station.  See Google Classroom for student copy.

      • Remember anything you put on your rough draft or final poster, Mrs. Whelpley needs to see where you got inspiration for it, so put all evidence  on your Propaganda Poster Note Sheet.

      • Here are some examples of descriptions of evidence you see in a station that you can write on your  Propaganda Poster Note Sheet:

        1. • 1. WWI helmet is heavy, green, made of strong metal OR WWI soldier's boots are suede, lots of bumps on the bottom, brown leather lined - Not good if it rains?  (Evidence: Cantigny War Trunk)

             2. Describe a scene you saw from a WWI picture book (Evidence: Adams, Simon. Eyewitness Books: World War I. Dorling Kindersley, 2001. )

             3.  WWI flag with 48 stars (Evidence:  Flag hanging in classroom on wall)

             4. Looking at sheet music, you see a verse or title that caught your eye. Note the exact lyrics and mention that you plan to create a catchy slogan. (Evidence: sheet music)

**If finished with any station, do the following:

1. Go back to any station you haven't finished and finish.  

2. Start the next station IF there is room.  

3. Work on your Propaganda Poster rough draft Due Tuesday, October 7
