WHY STAGE MAKEUP IS IMPORTANT
At Bom Funk, we believe every dancer is perfect just as they are, and makeup is not needed in everyday life. However, stage lighting can make faces appear washed out and featureless, especially in a large theatre setting.
Stage makeup helps to enhance a performer’s natural features so their expressions are visible from the audience.

All Cheer Showcase performers are asked to wear stage makeup
Female dancers should wear:
▪ Brown eyeshadow + Mascara
▪ Pink blush
▪ Red lip colourMale dancers (if they wish) may wear a little bronzer to highlight facial features
Older dancers may wear more defined stage makeup
Squad dancers are required to wear fake eyelashes

This is a Make Up Kit perfect for dancers who just need the basics.

Different dances have different hairstyles, so you and your dancer will want to review our costuming page to see what style he or she will need for each performance. CLICK HERE (or see below) to get to the costuming page.
We have volunteers and older dancers backstage who can help your dancer change their hairstyle if required, but we will keep any changes to a minimum. Please pack the following in your dancer's bag:
bobby pins
hair pins
clear rubber bands
elastic bands that are the same colour as your dancer's hair
gel
comb and brush
STUDENTS WILL HAVE THE FOLLOWING HAIR STYLES FOR THE MAIN SHOW:
SLICK LOW CENTRE PART PONYTAIL - All routines except Ballet
OR
SLICK LOW CENTRE PART BALLET BUN - All ballet routines

Our male dancers do not require any make up (but may wish to do so).
Please come tidy with hair pulled back out of the face (gel is good for this).
