WHAT TO WEAR
WHAT TO WEAR
All students are required to wear the costume and accessories provided, as per the official ‘Costume Requirements’ documentation.
Some items may need to be supplied by families, including:
▪ Tights
▪ Underwear
▪ Socks
▪ Correct shoes
▪ Occasionally leggings or pants

Costumes will be tried on in class once they arrive.
If no issues are found, costumes will be:
▪ Packed into a named costume bag
▪ Delivered to the venue by Bom Funk staff
▪ Handed out on the day of the Showcase

All students must return their costume items and accessories at the end of the event.
Items must be returned in the original named costume bag.
No costumes provided by Bom Funk are to leave the theatre.
If any items are missing or damaged, the replacement cost will be charged to your account.

Costumes are provided free of charge.
As we accommodate a large number of students across various sizes and age groups, costumes may not always be a perfect fit.
Teachers will assess each costume and advise on any major alterations before distribution.
Tips for students with Quick changes:

If you or your child has 3 or less items between their class routines, they must change in the Quick change area backstage (Green Room). Please set up your costume here before the show.
o Take out your shoe laces for Hip Hop & Tap shoes and replace with black elastic
o Use low cut hip hop shoes (like tennis shoes) with black socks instead of High Tops
o Wear a flesh bodystocking so you are always covered (kids sizes available from our Boutique, adult sizes from local dance stores)
o Bring a plastic tub to throw everything into as you change & white towel to place costumes on so you don’t lose anything in the dark

Tan jazz tights, ballet stockings, flesh briefs & flesh body stockings are available to purchase from our Boutique (limited stock). Some second hand shoes are also available to purchase from the Boutique.
Bom Funk make up is available to purchase from our Boutique.

Every dancer is responsible for purchasing the correct shoes and tights for performance. We provide a safe dance & child-safe show and as such, require correct dance shoes and tights/stockings.

Can be purchased through our Boutique or from local Dance store such as Bloch or Attitude Australia.

Shoes for performance will be the same as the designated class shoe. We have limited second hand shoes in our Boutique. Other shoe styles can be purchased from Bloch or Attitude Australia.

We recommend visiting Best & Less or Kmart to purchase any underwear required. Seniors may wish to purchase dance brand underwear such as body stockings - we have kids sizes available in our Boutique - Adults sizes can be purchased from Attitude Australia or Bloch.
