METACOGNITION

Metacognition is an important part of learning, since it involves actively thinking about what you know, what you don’t know, and how you can get better at knowing and applying what you know; it is your awareness of your own cognitive processes.

Using metacognitive learning strategies helps students to move from simply remembering concepts to applying, analyzing, and evaluating what they have learned.
