With fufu

Rain outside

Safe

Me and myna

Got some time

Beanie boo school

Thump-thump

Down the stairs

Me and myna look each other in the eye

We know what comes next

Knock knock

She can see through doors I swear

Always knows when I’m having

Myna time

This one more a pound

“You get this one,” I tell myna

“Fine” she grumbles

I hear her and Roxy talking

Can’t make out what they’re saying

Myna comes back

“She just wanted us to know she got blue light glasses and Playmobil shed”

But we still love her.

When I have something she takes it away

When I’m happy she comes

When I’m alone she comes

When I’m in a meeting she knocks

When I’m recording she comes thumping down the stairs

When I’m reading a good book there she is standing at the door

But in the end

She’s my one and only Roxy.

You’re gone

Into the world of screens.

Sometimes you need to

When most people think

They think of sleep

They take them for granted, you see

There are so many kinds
