Snuggling
With fufu
Rain outside
Safe
Me and myna
Got some time
Beanie boo school
Thump-thump
Down the stairs
Me and myna look each other in the eye
We know what comes next
Knock knock
She can see through doors I swear
Always knows when I’m having
Myna time
Knock knock
This one more a pound
“You get this one,” I tell myna
“Fine” she grumbles
I hear her and Roxy talking
Can’t make out what they’re saying
Myna comes back
Without Roxy
“What did she say?”
“She just wanted us to know she got blue light glasses and Playmobil shed”
“Darn it”
Myna just got those
In the mail
Copycat
But we still love her.
The person taking it away
The person making me miserable
But in the end, we’re friends
When I have something she takes it away
When I’m happy she comes
When I’m alone she comes
When I’m in a meeting she knocks
When I’m recording she comes thumping down the stairs
When I’m reading a good book there she is standing at the door
But in the end
She’s my one and only Roxy.
Screens
Traps
They go together
They lure you in
With games
YouTube
And then
Poof
You’re gone
Into the world of screens.
Sometimes you need to
Use them
But not always
And hey
I’m not saying I don’t use them
Of course I do!
I just
Well
Try not to fall for them
To fall for their
Traps.
Why do the leaves kill themselves as soon as they turn yellow?
Some things are just
Sad
And you never know why
They just..
Are
Those leaves
They are satisfied
With their lives
Of making people happy
People have jumped in the,
Their happy
So…
It’s not sad
It’s happy
When will
it
be over?
We stopped saying the word
It’s long and snaggy
like a twig your shirt just got caught on
It used to feel kind of fun
The idea of staying home
Now?
It’s just boring
Just another day
Dragging on….
Zoom?
Let’s talk about zoom
It’s just
boring
Nothing else to it
That’s all there is to say
Just zoom
Goodbye
We had a meeting
Government
It’s interesting
3 candidates
Role play
Government
I was silly
Said I would buy towels and humidifiers
Government
Said I would make houses for people out of marshmallows
Government
Sookie was serious
Said she would donate money
Government
Noie was a mix
She usually is
I like her
She laughs when I’m silly
But listens when Sookie's serious
Government
Rachael was funny
She usually is
I like her
Government.
Hope
Hope is something to have
But you can't say you have it
You have to have it..
Hope
is something to use as a tool
Not a weapon
Use it when you need
Like in distress
Don’t play around with..
Hope
it's something to look forward to
Or to wish for the future
Never only use..
Hope
For yourself
Try using it for others
Hope is powerful
Use it the right way.
When most people think
Of pillows
They think of sleep
They take them for granted, you see
There are so many kinds
And you can never have enough
They’re warm like a furnace
Cuddly as a cat
But the pillow I’m talking about is
Well
Different
First, my pillow has a name
Flufflyf
Don’t judge
Pillows don’t judge
My pillow has hair
It’s grey like a cloudy day
But cozy like a log cabin
And pillows have feelings too
You see
Since I got flufflyf fu fu has gotten VERY jealous
He’s still adjusting
Like a brother is to a new sister
But soon (when we don’t keep the in separate rooms) they will bond
Like any sibling
But the best thing about pillows is that they’re safe
Like family.
Why am I special?
I’m not
Yes I am
People tell me that I am
But I’m not
I am just the same as everyone else
People say stand out like an alien
I don’t want to
They say alien in a good way
I want to be like others
Born the same
Look the same
As cool as the others
They say anything’s possible
I don’t think so
Not when you have a prosthetic
Let’s not say that word
Why not?
It’s my choice
They want me to make a difference
Why don’t you?
I’ve been trying
Really?
Yes
Doing what?
I’m making a project
I’ve been wondering what that box is
It’s not in the box
Where is it?
It’s in my appearance
You can’t always change your appearance
I know
Then why do you try?
You know what?
What?
You can’t control me
But
No buts
Leave
Fine, I will
Lila tov is what the family says.
Good night.
Let your dreams wash you with emotion.
Let them roll over you like the tide at the beach.
Let the hammer smash your current thoughts.
Think blank.
Let your mind and thoughts sway back and forth like a willow tree. Think but not talk.
Think about your day like a cake.
Without an ingredient in the cake it would not be complete.
Each thing that happened in your day was an ingredient.
Your day wouldn't be complete without it.
Now sleep.
