Appendix J - Visitor Restrictions

During the Covid-19 pandemic there will be limited access to BGCDSB workplaces.

• Visitors that are not considered to be essential will be restricted from entering a BGCDSB workplace.

• Essential visitors that do access an BGCDSB workplace will be required to sign in and out at the main office by following the pre-screening protocol. A kiosk will be available at the front entrance with a Link to digital Visitor Sign-In and Self-Assessment Form and Sign-Out Form.

Parent/Guardians

• Parents/guardians will be restricted from entering into school premises to drop-off or pick up their child(ren) or their child(ren)’s personal belongings..

• In the event that a parent/guardian is picking up their sick or ill child, the parent/guardian will call the school to notify the school’s administration that they have arrived.

• A staff member will bring the student and their belongings to the front doors to meet the parent

• Should the parent/guardian need to enter the school, the parent/guardian or emergency contact will follow the procedure for self monitoring, hand hygiene, physical distancing and sign in/check out as indicated above.

• The parent/guardian or emergency contact will not be allowed to go to the student’s classroom or locker to retrieve additional items i.e. coursework.

Contractors/ Delivery Personnel

• Contractors/delivery personnel may be allowed to enter BGCDSB workplaces.

• Contractors will be notified by their BGCDSB contact of any procedures for entering on BGCDSB premises i.e. self monitoring, hand hygiene, physical distancing, sign in/sign out requirements

• It is the responsibility of the BGCDSB contact to notify the school of when the contractor will be onsite.

• The contractor will be responsible for providing their own PPE and equipment.

Volunteers

• Volunteers will not be utilized in the schools except in extreme cases, with prior approval from Senior Administration.

• The school will notify volunteers if approved

• Volunteers will be notified by their BGCDSB contact of any procedures for entering on BGCDSB premises, i.e. self monitoring, hand hygiene, physical distancing, sign in/sign out requirements

• BGCDSB will make PPE available for volunteers
