The CLEP Test

College-Level Examination Program (CLEP) exams allow students to demonstrate their knowledge on a test in place of taking an introductory colleg ecourse. If passed, some colleges accept these tests as college credit. There are currently 34 different CLEP tests. Exams are typically 90-to-120 minutes in length, and they are typically multiple-choice. Exams cost $97 (plus local testing fees).

Nearly 3,000 colleges and universities accept them as credit. Before taking, please confirm that your intended school accepts these as credit. Talk to your Academic Advisor if you need help confirming that your intended school accepts CLEP, preparing for the test, or registering.
