Official Benchmarks
ACT is a standardized, college entrance exam taken by students to determine readiness in English, Math, Reading, and Science.
SAT is a standarized, college entrance exam taken by students to determine college readiness in English - reading and writing - and Mathmatics.
ACT Aspire is the statewide high school achievement test for Arizona public school students in the 9th grade cohort.
The Preliminary SAT is an exam typically taken by high school sophomores and juniors to practice for the SAT and qualify for the National Merit Scholarship.
The Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery is a multiple-aptitude battery that measures developed abilities and helps predict future academic and occupational success.
Classic Learning Test offers assessments that strengthen a traditional education, providing a meaningful metric of students’ abilities and helping them pursue a fulfilling future.
Advanced Placement Tests are the end-of-course exams to assess high school students on coursework designed to be equivalent to an introductory college-level class.
College-Level Examination Program exams may allow you to test out of introductory college courses and earn college credit.
State Testing
Students are required to participate in state-mandated testing in the following school years:
Grade 7: AASA - English Language Arts, Math
Grade 8: AASA - English Language Arts, Math, AZSCI (Science)
Grade 9: ACT Aspire
Grade 11: ACT, AzSCI (Science)
Parents will be notified when testing is to take place and will receive information regarding their child’s performance when test scores are released.
Ben Franklin Finals
Final exams are the final benchmark for a semester's coursework. These tests are an integral part of the semester and are worth 20% of the semester grade.
Please remember:
Final exams will not be given early and are only administered during final exam week and only at the time scheduled by the teacher.
First-semester finals must be made up within the first week of the second semester as arranged through the student’s teacher.
Second-semester finals must be completed within one week of the last day of school.
