Mavericks Soar Together
Hello Maverick Families! Each month we will be sending out a link to our Maverick Memo! We hope to continue to add updates on what is going on at JSM as well as some important information you will need as a parent or caregiver. Thank you for sharing your children with us.
Felicia and Yari are the heart of the JSM office. Anytime anyone is in need they drop whatever to support our school. If you have any questions these smiling faces are the first people you see when you enter our building. We are so grateful for all their hard work!
Dr. Brandi Ransom is our School Counselor, she can be reached at (623) 866-6219. This year our students have access to the Mindfulness room which is a quiet space on campus for students to relax, reflect, and recharge. The purpose of the Mindfulness Room is to provide a warm and calming environment where students can practice effective mental health techniques such as meditation, deep breathing, reading, journaling, coloring, etc. If you have any questions please feel free to call her.
Positive behavioral interventions and supports (PBIS) is an approach schools use to promote school safety and good behavior.
With PBIS, schools teach kids about behavior expectations and strategies.
The focus of PBIS is prevention, not punishment.
