Transcripts and Grades

Transcripts

For general transcript release requests (ie, for special program or scholarships) you can use the General Transcript Release Form.

Requesting transcripts for the purposes of college admissions includes the completion of the Transcript Release/Counselor Waiver Form, and the steps below in Naviance.  Your ability to request transcripts will be activated after you pay the transcript fee.

Self Reported Academic Records (SRARs)

Colleges that use SRAR do not accept high school transcripts or any other documents from the Counseling Office.  Instead, students will be required to complete the SRAR online; it cannot be done by the counselor or counseling office. Rutgers University is one college that uses SRARs.  To apply, you will need your “State Student ID” Number.  This can be found on either your transcript or in Naviance . Make sure you copy the State ID Number, not the Student ID Number.  Please do not request transcripts through Naviance for schools that use SRAR. Any request made in Naviance for an SRAR institution will be deleted and not processed.

Senior Year Course Changes

Changes to your senior year courses after applications/transcripts have been submitted and/or acceptances are received may affect admission offers by colleges and universities.  Before making any schedule changes, contact each school’s admission office directly to discuss the potential implications.  If you decide to make a schedule change, you must communicate with each school directly explaining the course change.  Consult your counselor throughout this process.  Note that this is a separate task from the Ridge Counseling Department’s process to have a course dropped.

Senior Year Grades

First marking period grades will be sent to colleges automatically, unless you specifically request to have them NOT sent.  In order for you to request NOT to have first marking period grades sent, complete the Request to Withhold MP1 Grades from Colleges: Fall 2023 form.  Please note that Mid-Year grades are sent automatically in February, and there is no withholding option; no action is needed by students.
