Using Naviance

All students at Ridge High School are introduced to their Naviance platform during their sophomore year. Students, counselors, and teachers use Naviance for the college application process, as well as career planning. Contact your school counselor and/or the counseling secretaries for help with logging in.


Using Naviance for College Planning


Naviance is a robust and comprehensive system for college planning. Counselors and students work closely together at Ridge High School to navigate several aspects of the college planning process including:


  • Finding Your Fit: Students can explore sevearl features including SuperMatch College Search, college events, scattergrams of various data points related to admissions trends at specific schools, and discover various college matches based on interests.


  • Researching Colleges: Students are able to research colleges, compare schools, understand resources available, acceptance history and enrichment opportunities at schools.

  • Applying to College: Students use Naviance to apply to college, manage transcript requests, letters of recommendation requests and see your test scores.

  • Scholarships and Money: Students can explore dozens of scholarships that Ridge maintains that are college specific, national search and local options as well.

Using Naviance for Career Exploration


Naviance is a powerful tool not only for college searching, but also for career exploration. Students have access to information related to career, federal career clusters, and pathways. To aid in using these tools, students have access to various inventories and surveys to help discover their interests and searches.


  • Careers Tab: Students should click on the top portion of their Naviance Student screen and select "Careers" to research specific careers. You can filter careers by field, education level, national and median salaries, etc. Students can also click on "Clusters and Pathways" to explores careers by federal cluster, and related pathways within each.


  • Self-Discovery Tab: By clicking on this tab, students have access to surveys and inventories to help with their career searches. Examples of inventories are the Career Interest Inventory, Achieve Works (Intelligencies, Work & Productivity, and Personality), Career Cluster Finder, and Strengths Explorer.
